For a year and half following his stroke Fats stayed on his self proclaimed "pity pot". Acquaintance and fellow transplanted Northwestern songwriter
Terry Bell..... (Terry veteran of popular Oregon bands knew Peter in Oregon they performed the club and festival circuit and shared many
venues. In Nashville, their paths crossed again, they coincidentally relocated the same month. After about seven years in Nashville Terry
became a follower of Jesus),.. heard that Peter was recovering from a stroke and that he was not writing or performing, he did not even own a
guitar. Employed at Gibson Guitar factory in Nashville Terry was able to secure a slightly damaged Blues Master acoustic guitar for Peter.
Three days before Christmas he delivered the guitar with the message that it was a gift from the Lord (Gibson does not make a habit of giving
away guitars). Soon after Christmas Peter changed his name to Nashville Fats and began writing Christian music, Introducing Jesus Blues was
recorded that summer.
Unifying his faith in the Bible as the inspired word of God with his understanding of blues as a powerful form of expression, Fats delivers a
hopeful message. Introducing Jesus blues entertains and enlightens.
